With apologies to Jimmy Page and Robert Plant, here's a whole lotta links...
...Meet Hank King, a Phillies advance scout who played a significant role in the reports that the Phillies used on the way to their World Series title.
...Supposedly, the Phillies are still in the running for Derek Lowe's services.
...Mitch Williams has a new gig as an analyst for the new MLB Network [channel 280 on your Comcast dial]. No word on his replacement on the Phillies post-game shows.
...Jimmy Rollins served as the Eagles good luck charm on Sunday, taking in the game with the McNabb family. Naturally, Meech is all over the screen caps.
...At times, we get caught up around here in wishing/hoping/praying that Andy Reid calls a running play at least once a quarter. Because of that, we can sometimes lose sight of the fact that it isn't so much a balanced attack that wins games in the NFL, but efficient passing. "The Mean Guy" at Scrapple reminds us.
...Speaking of looking at advanced statistics in football, they've always lagged behind what we have in baseball. But, sites such as profootballfocus.com, advancednflstats.com, and footballoutsiders.com are certainly doing their part to close the gap.
...The Dave Matthews Band has a replacement for the Leroi Moore after his untimely passing in 2008. Jeff Coffin of Bela Fleck and the Flecktones will take over on the wind section. If we can't have Leroi, this is certainly a good replacement.
