The Phillies gained a game in the standings this evening with a victory over the Nationals combined with a loss by the Mets to the Marlins.
For the Phillies, Joe Blanton was merely adequate, which was all he needed to be given Ryan Howard's power output.
With a win tomorrow, the Phillies can clinch the NL East title for the second year in a row, and it could be, for the second year in a row, Jamie Moyer pitching the Phils to victory.
I hate to jinx him, but is there anyone out there that don't envision a stellar effort from Moyer tomorrow, the kind of effort he provided on the final day last season?
