The Phillies have found some interesting ways to lose games so far in this young season. It seems as if every inning has a defensive gaffe and those are often followed a half inning later by a failure to score multiple baserunners.
Naturally, as you would expect, Phillies fans are handling it all with level-headed objectivity and patience.
Chutley is a lollygagger!
Yeah. Right.
The tendency to want to over-analyze every event on the field is understandable, after all, we live and die with this team. But at the same time you have to remember, to paraphrase the bumper sticker, losses happen. So when you read and hear of people suggesting that Chase Utley isn't hustling enough, well, I think at that point all sense of reason has gone the way of car-phones. Chase Utley?!?!
Hey, last year at this time, we as fans would have gone down on bended knee for the 6-7 record the Phillies stand at now. Remember how 3-10 felt last year at this time? This is nothin' guys, c'mon.
