Tonight the Phillies will face Jeff Francis and send Brett Myers to the mound to face the Rockies.
In recent years, as Francis as moved into his late-20's, he's turned himself into quite a pitcher. In the last two full seasons he's averaged over 200 innings pitched and has had ERA+ of 118 and 114.
Given that he's a lefthander, which typically causes problems for the Phillies, and given the fact that the current Rockies' regulars have a .893 OPS against Brett Myers while the current Phillies regulars have a .699 OPS against Francis [b-r.com], I'm not sure how confident I feel in a Phillies win tonight.
The folks that set the baseball betting lines aren't crazy about the Phillies chances either. Fortunately for us however, they'll play the game anyway.
