According to Ken Rosenthal, the Padres and Randy Wolf have deal in place.
The Phillies had made an offer to Wolf, who was essentially their Plan C for adding a starting pitcher. Curt Schilling was Plan A, Hiroki Kuroda was Plan B, and each of them probably would have helped the Phillies. But in the case of Wolf, it might be for the best that the Phillies missed out.
After all, what possible good can come of sending out an oft-injured, soft-tossing left-hander at Citizens Bank Park with the left-field wall that seemingly comes into play for backpedaling third basemen?
Of course, we don't know what Plan D is...
Wait, it isn't Adam Eaton is it?
