Tuesday afternoon had this Phillies fan feeling a little guilty. I had just scored tickets to Thursday's playoff game in Philadelphia against the Colorado Rockies, and to attend, I was going to have to blow off a routine OB/GYN visit with my wife. As usual, she cut me some slack, and had no problems with me heading to the ballpark, after all, her due date was not for another six weeks, there would be plenty more doctor's appointments.
Wednesday morning finds the Phillies fan base five pounds and nine ounces heavier.
All is well, and I look forward to some day telling my little girl -- with a smile on my face as she dons her pink Phillies hat -- about how I missed out on the first playoff game in fourteen years because she just couldn't wait any longer.
The impatience seems appropriate, doesn't it?

In addition to attending the game, I had intended to publish something profiling the upcoming series. Instead, I direct you to a piece from Bill Lyons in Tuesday's Inquirer. No one catches the heart of a fan better.
