Billy Beane, the much-heralded general manager of the Oakland A's, is often quoted as saying there are three parts to a season. April and May are when you figure out what your team needs, June and July are spent trying to get those parts, and August and September are a sprint to the finish line.
With that concept in mind, it's time to begin to seriously think about who may or may not get traded on from the Phillies. Much of the likelihood of a player being traded is whether or not the Phillies are in contention for a playoff berth and to what degree. The chart below fleshes out some scenarios.
