Since its inception in 2004, The Hardball Times has been one of the best independent sites for baseball coverage and I've been a fan of THT and its writers ever since. So, a few weeks ago, when the site's editor, Dave Studeman, approached me to write the chapter on the Phillies for their 2007 season preview, I was honored (not to mention shocked at their lapse in judgment).
The book, available in traditional print form or an electronic version (PDF file format), contains previews of all major league teams, essays on the most likely prominent rookies for the 2007 season as well as some fantasy tips, and a player projection system for the next three years (interestingly, the system also denotes how much confidence you should have in each projection, something very few systems do).
More specific to the Phillies, you'll read who, in my humble opinion, are the Phightin's most likely to have a big year or take a dip, reasons to be optimistic or pessimistic about the team, and finally, my predictions for the outcome of the season.
Enjoy.
[By the way, I'm willing to autograph your copy in return for a Schmitter at the park. How's that for an offer?]
