By the end of 2004, Tiger Woods had not won a major championship in two full seasons. Pundits everywhere tried to dissect Woods' game and determine what was different about that Tiger from the one that had won eight majors from 1997 through 2002.
Some suggested that his recently surgically repaired knee was not rehabilitated properly. Others pointed out that Woods was revamping his swing (possibly because of the knee) and some went so far to compare his new bride, Elin Nordegren, to Yoko Ono.
But the fact of the matter is, while Tiger wasn't as good as he was from 2000-2002 when he won seven major championships, he was still Tiger Effing Woods. In 2003 he lead the tour in scoring average and in 2004 finished third. In between he won six times on the PGA Tour alone.
So, you may ask, what in the heck does Tiger Woods have to do with Lost? It seems as if lots of people are giving up on Lost. They say things like, "every week, all we get are more questions, and there are very few answers" and "the first season was so much better".
I'm willing to concede that last point, fine, it's not as good as the first season. But it is still Effing Lost. No where else on the television dial are you going to find characters so interesting and a plot so structured. Seriously, what else are you going to watch, Smith?

[as is par for the course, questions/spoilers/post-game analysis after the jump]
- Why was Ben/Henry so insistent on taking the boat away from Sun, Jin, and Sayid? Was it because he wanted it for his group of Others or because he just didn't want the Losties to have it?
- Last week, we wondered if Benry and Juliet had been an item in the past. I think we cleared that up this week with Benry's line, "you never made me eggs" to Juliet.
- Back to the boat. The boat was originally Desmond's. How is it that the Others didn't know of his boat for all the time Desmond was on the island?
- Why is it that I find the Jack storyline the most interesting of them all? Is it because as a strapping and handsome healthcare professional with a weakness for Julie Bowen, Evangeline Lilly, and the Philadelphia Eagles, I somehow identify with Jack? Stop laughing.
- The pre-abduction Kate would have put up more of a fight against the Others when Sawyer started up that brouhaha. I'm starting to think she might be at least a tad compromised.
- Hey, if people waking up from coma's didn't believe the Red Sox won the World Series, why should Jack? [see video below]
