As I've said before, box scores coupled with win probability graphs can tell you much of the story of a particular baseball game. Now it seems, the folks at FanGraphs.com have done just that. Checking the site every morning is beginning to become one of my morning rituals.
After another come from behind win by the Phillies (not once but twice in the game, proving Dan McQuade wrong), I was very curious to see what a graph of the game would look like. As you can see below, it looks like an Etch-a-sketch mishap.
The increasingly impressive Aaron Rowand was a big part of the game, his triple in the seventh inning putting the Phillies ahead for good, 7-5. Tom Gordon came in for the third game in a row -- something Billy Wagner rarely can do -- and got the save.
Next up for the Phillies is John Smoltz and the Braves. Brett Myers will try and make it a four-game win-streak for the Phils.
