The older we get, the fewer surprises there are on Christmas. But this year, for me, there were several. The hat at right [click to enlarge] is one such item -- my brother and sister in law caught me comepletely off-guard with that one for sure (I bet BatGirl doesn't have hats, score a point for me), and it brought a smile to my face.
Another such item was a print of a photograph that my parents purchased from the Hall of Fame's store. The photograph is of Eddie Collins, Babe Ruth, Connie Mack, Cy Young, Honus Wagner, Grover
Cleveland Alexander, Tris Speaker, Napoleon Lajoie, George Sisler, and Walter Johnson just after they were each inducted into the Hall of Fame in its inaugural class (Ty Cobb is missing, supposedly because he was late for the train to Cooperstown).
And as for this posting, it was created on another Christmas surprise. Yes that's right, the Commodore 64 has been retired. It's ashes will be sprinkled over the blogosphere at a later date.
