St. Louis Cardinals over the San Diego Padres - There's the old saying when an upset is possible, "that's why they play the games". But do they really have to even play these?
LAnaheim Angels over the New York Yankees - The old adage "good pitching beats good hitting" comes to mind when evaluating this series. While the Yankees have one of the best offenses in the league, the Angels have allowed very few runs over the course of the season.
Houston Astros over the Atlanta Braves - The Braves' bats often go silent in the playoffs, which brings to mind a saying that I am coming up with right here, "good pitching beats bad hitting."
Boston Red Sox over Chicago White Sox - I had a hard time with this one, and in the end I went with, "when in doubt, flip a coin." I think both teams are backing into the playoffs, so I'm not terribly comfortable picking either one.
