We all know Bobby Abreu can swing the lumber, but we also know that sometimes his play in rightfield is -- to be kind -- less than perfect.
But there is an interesting article at PROTRADE.com that measures the throwing abilities of outfielders. Essentially, it calculates the number of bases saved by each outfielder as compared to the league average, incorporating where the throws are made from in the outfield.
Brace yourself: Bobby Abreu ranks in the top ten in baseball (Ichiro! leads the way). So in other words, as long as we can get Abreu to catch the ball...
