Question: Is baseball better off -- in the long-run -- if Bonds breaks the records of Ruth and/or Aaron or if he comes up short?
Even a few months ago, I would have said baseball would be better off if he did break the records. Today, I'm not so sure. While I myself am not certain that he is guilty of anything other than being arrogant and being the most selective hitter the game has ever seen, I think the general public is convinced he took steroids and therefore, the game may be better served if he does not break the records.
